On June 5, we celebrate World Environment Day—an opportunity to reflect, take action, and strengthen our collective commitment to protecting the planet. This year, the central theme focuses on climate resilience and the urgent need to safeguard the most vulnerable ecosystems, such as those in the Mediterranean basin. The Deltamed Association, long active in promoting sustainable development in Mediterranean regions, recognizes climate change as one of the most serious threats to coastal areas, wetlands, and local communities. Rising sea levels, coastal erosion, water scarcity, and biodiversity loss are already visible phenomena that are set to worsen without concrete and shared action. On this symbolic day, Deltamed renews its commitment to supporting resilient communities, promoting existing good practices, and building together a greener, fairer, and more sustainable Mediterranean.
